About Jameson Lake

Jameson Lake is a notable freshwater feature located in Douglas County, Washington, approximately 15 miles from Waterville and 25 miles from East Wenatchee. This accessibility makes it a popular destination for urban dwellers seeking outdoor recreational activities. Covering a substantial area, Jameson Lake is characterized by its calm waters, creating an appealing environment for kayaking enthusiasts. The lake is recognized for its stable water surface, which is typically free from the strong currents found in rivers. This enables individuals to enjoy leisurely paddling experiences without the challenges often associated with more dynamic waterways.

In the context of Washington's rich kayaking landscape, Jameson Lake holds a special place. The state is renowned for its extensive network of lakes, rivers, and coastal waters, providing a diverse range of paddling opportunities. Kayaking in Washington often encompasses exploring lush green forests, stunning mountain backdrops, and diverse wildlife, making it a premier destination for both novice and experienced paddlers. Jameson Lake stands out due to its relatively undisturbed natural setting, ideal for those looking to escape into a peaceful oasis.

Kayakers visiting Jameson Lake can generally expect favorable conditions typical for calm lakes in Washington. Although other watercraft may be present, the lack of heavy motorboat traffic accentuates the tranquil atmosphere. This reduces the likelihood of choppy waters, allowing for a smooth kayaking experience. Wind exposure is usually mild, leading to minimal wave action, which is especially appealing for beginners or families with children. The water visibility tends to be good, making it easier to appreciate the aquatic life below the surface. The lake's depths are suitable for swimming, allowing paddlers to take refreshing dips alongside their kayaking adventures.

reviewsWhat Paddlers Say

I’ve been taking yearly trips to Jack’s Resort with my family for as long as I can remember. Every year there are still new things to do. There are tons of areas for hiking, biking, fishing, swimming, boating, and even herping. Ginger and Anna are always lovely and kind to everyone. The restaurant has incredible burgers (and other kinds of food), I’ve never found pie anywhere else that tastes as good as it does at Jack’s. My brother is vegan as well, and he is always able to find something to eat at the restaurant, they accommodate him well. The lake and surrounding area is gorgeous to top it off.

This is an RV campsite. We got there around noon and already had reservations. But they would not let us go to the camp site because check in time is at 3 even tho the site was empty. Heck there were only probably 5 other campers. The only way you could go up early is by paying extra so we did. Then hooked everything up and set up camp. Then there was no Internet service until late that night. The camp sites are small and it's all gravel roads and the boat launch is kind of tricky. No playground for the kids either.

This place is amazing the staff are super friendly, the food is delicious and the atmosphere is super chill and beautiful. This is a family owned restaurant, and they have homemade pies wich are just to die for, if you haven't been you're missing out on one the highest quality burgers across America thats how good they make them. Try the gunner burger. Now this place sets the proper standard for American burgers.
